About Taurus 689 - 6"
The Taurus company was founded in 1982 as the Taurus Holdings, Inc. which is a Florida based holding company which, in turn, owns several companies responsible for some of the most robust firearms brands in the United States. The Taurus produced it’s absolutely the first revolver in 1941. In 1970, Bangor Punta, that owned the Smith & Wesson, purchased a controlling interest in the Forjas Taurus company.
The Taurus 689 6'' belongs to the family of compact frame revolver series manufactured by Taurus. The Taurus 689 6'' is chambered in .357 Mag and has a DA/SA trigger mechanism. The cylinder of the revolver can hold 6 rounds. The frame is made of steel and the grips are made of rubber. The Taurus 689 6'' and the whole compact frame series is a fair choice for concealed carry that combines a good stopping force with a relatively small barrel length. The frame and rubber materials vary from model to model, but the basis is that the frame is steel or other metal and the grips are made of rubber either with finger grooves or not.
