How to choose the best holster for your Ruger GP100

Picking the right Ruger GP100 holster 4 inch isn’t about following trends,it’s about what works for you in your day-to-day life and routine. This revolver is heavy-duty and built to perform, so you need a proper and well built holster that is able to keep up. Leather gives you that timeless, broken-in feel, while Kydex snaps to shape and holds firm from day one. Ask yourself how you want to carry. Need something discreet? Going hiking? Spending all day driving? Your routine should guide your choice. Whether you’re into high-ride OWB, a chest rig for the woods, or a cross draw for easier access on the road, the best holster for Ruger GP100 is the ones that stay put, feel good, and let you draw smooth when it counts.

Carry Options for Ruger GP100 holsters

Concealed Carry

The Ruger GP100 isn’t small to say the least, but with the right holster setup, you can still conceal it rather comfortably. A good Ruger GP100 concealed carry holster should hold the revolver tight to your body, stay secure, support its weight without sagging and let you draw without fumbling. Look for low-profile shapes, sweat guards, and stable clips that won’t slide around during the day.

IWB Holsters

With a Ruger GP100 IWB holster, you’re carrying inside the waistband, great for keeping things nice discreet. Choose an IWB holster with a solid clip and adjustable cant so you can dial in the right draw angle and not worry about it falling off while you go about your business. Leather gives you a soft, body-molding fit over time, while Kydex stays rigid and offers a crisp draw every time.

OWB Holsters

A Ruger GP100 OWB holster rides outside your waistband and gives you easy access with extra comfort. It’s perfect for range use or open carry. Look for paddle backs or belt loop styles that spread the weight and keep the revolver steady. Some models double as duty holsters thanks to rugged materials and smart retention.

Shoulder Holsters

Shoulder carry is a great way to get weight off your belt. A shoulder holster for Ruger GP100 4 inch works well for long drives or cold-weather wear. With adjustable straps and horizontal or vertical orientation, it keeps your revolver ready without getting in the way.

Chest Holsters

The Ruger GP100 chest holster is made for movement, hiking, off-roading, or just working outside. It holds the gun high and center, right where your hands naturally fall. These rigs work with backpacks and jackets without digging into your hips or snagging on gear.

Cross Draw Holsters

A Ruger GP100 cross draw holster is easy to reach, especially when seated or moving around. It draws across the body and avoids the pinch of strong-side carry. Great for horseback riders, truck drivers, and anyone who needs quick access from a seated position.

Western Holsters

If you prefer a traditional field or cowboy-style setup, you can also choose a Ruger GP100 Western holster built for secure open carry and comfortable all-day wear. These designs are ideal for outdoor use, ranch work, or anyone who likes the classic Western draw.

Well crafted, and fast shipping, once completed,,, I have to break it in and use it to really give an honest review, but I can tell just by looking at it, it's worth it, this product came from Slovakia, just to let you know, buying American made is best, but world trade also makes the (wheel go round)

I'm wearing it now as I sit to type. Very comfortable. Being new, it's still a bit stiff, but I think that will change as I wear it. One easily could drive a car or truck with it on. I even played guitar with it on, sitting with an acoustic guitar--neither the gun nor the holster touches my instrument at all. This is a cross draw holster worn on my left side for right handed draw. The day after the holster arrived, there came an email about how to break in the holster. I chose the plastic bag/dry method, and the leather bent to the gun mostly. If it stays stiff for a month, I may put some liquid on it on the inside, like some Neatsfoot oil. I can always do that, but I can't undo it, so I'll wear it to see hat happens. This is very well sewn, clearly a high quality product. The leather is thick and firm, and I suspect will last long. Excellent holster. Had I another unholstered gun, I'd buy a holster from this company for it, but I don't so I won't. Good company, good support, and a very fine product.
