About Colt Officers
Colt’s Manufacturing Company (CMC) represents one of the most famous American guns manufacturers, respected and well known worldwide. Sam Colt established the first Colt’s factory in England in 1851. Few years later, he managed to expand also to American continent and factory was founded in Hartford, in Connecticut. In 1891, Colt came into a contract with John Browning, when long and profitable relationship started.
The Colt Officers Model or Officer’s ACP is a single-action, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol. The Colt 1911 Officers semi-automatic was introduced in 1985 to satisfy continuing interest and demands of the shooters for smaller versions of the original design.In 1985, Colt developed their own compact model named the “Colt Officer’s ACP”. This gun model weighs only 24 oz., measuring in the total of 7.5”, with the barrel length of 3.5”.Colt developed later on a parkerized version of the 1911 model, featuring the same dimensions as the Colt Officers 3.5 Inch ACP model and with the firing pin safety typical for the 80 series models.
