About Ruger P89
The company known all over the world as the Ruger, with the official name of The Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is the leading producer of firearms in the whole United States. The Sturm, Ruger designs, produces and markets a full line of various models of pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns, mainly for sporting purposes, however there is also several models available for the law enforcement and military use.
The Ruger P89 is a semi-automatic pistol, caliber 9 mm. The P89 pistol features hard-coated, stainless barrel, aircraft-quality aluminum frames, steel slides and also polycarbonate grip panels, or optional rubber wraparound grips. Its cartridge was introduced together with the Luger semi-automatic pistol which were first adopted in 1904 by the German Navy. In late 2007 the Ruger P 89 pistol was discontinued. The Ruger P89 exactly as the other pistols of the P-Series is short recoil–operated, locked breech semi-automatic pistol. The P-Series were produced with a traditional double-action (DA/SA) trigger construction. This model’s decocker has no manual safety, instead, when the lever is lowered it only cams the firing pin into the slide and also drops the hammer. When the lever is released then the firing pin springs back to the normal position. The DAO models have no decocker or manual safety. All models and the Ruger P89 feature an automatic firing pin safety that blocks the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled fully rearward.
