About Beretta 92
Beretta is probably the largest company producing firearms in the world. It's output is approximately 1,500 produced weapons a day. One of the biggest achievements of Beretta is definitely the fact that the American Armed Forces and State Police Forces started using Beretta 92 series in 1985. The company added to its classical sporting guns production a completely new line of hunting apparel and accessories, clay target shooting and outdoor sports items in the early 1990s.
The Beretta 92 is a semi-automatic handgun introduced to the market in 1972 by Beretta. The pistol evolved from earlier models, taking into effect the open slide design, while the alloy frame and locking block barrel. The Beretta 92 Full Size is a 4.9 Inch Barrel handgun chambered in 9mm. The design featured some unique features which became legendary for the whole Model 92 and it’s subsequent series. The 92 cal. 9mm is a double stacked handgun that can hold up to 15 rounds.One specific feature of this model is definitely the 'tip-up' barrel. The barrel pivots, were designed under the muzzle so the chamber can be easily loaded with the slide in the closed position. It makes better and simplifies loading, unloading and checking load status, as the slide is quite difficult to retract by hand. Beretta 92 was designed without any extractor. It is relying just on blowback inertia in order to remove fired cases from the chamber. It can make it mainly sensitive to choice of ammunition to permit dependable operation. Concealed carry options and its suitability are very subjective. However smaller versions can be concealed easier but may be more difficult to handle. More powerful ammunition has greater stopping power but it’s more difficult to fire accurately. Sights of the model are fixed on the frame.
