How to choose the best holster for your Glock 48

Choosing the right holster for Glock 48 starts with matching carry style to the 48’s slim, compact profile. Our selection covers IWB/AIWB, OWB/paddle, ankle, chest, drop-leg and duty rigs—each Glock 48 9mm holster is precisely molded for the slide, sights, and common accessory cuts so you get a repeatable draw and full trigger-guard protection. Whether you prioritize deep concealment, fast access, or duty-grade retention, pick a holster that balances comfort, secure retention, and the exact fit your Glock 48 needs.

Best Glock 48 IWB Holster

IWB Holster w Steel Clip – $89. This leather holster can be carried both IWB and appendix style, offering flexibility in how you choose to carry your Glock 48. The steel clip design is perfect for those who dislike removing their belt when attaching or detaching the holster. It also features a reinforced thumb break strap, adding extra durability and increasing the holster’s natural retention, making it a highly secure option.

Best Glock 48 OWB Holster

Open Top Belt Holster – $89.  The Open Top Belt Holster is an excellent choice for those seeking easy access and a quick draw. Its pancake design provides a slim, low-profile fit, ensuring that your Glock 48 remains concealed even in an OWB carry position. This holster is not only practical but also extremely comfortable for daily wear.

Best Glock 48 Shoulder Holster

Shoulder Holster System – $215. For shoulder holster fans, the Shoulder Holster System is the best option for the Glock 48. This leather shoulder system allows you to carry your gun in a horizontal position, secured with a thumb break strap for added safety. The system includes a double ammo holder and tie-down straps that attach to your belt, offering excellent balance and security. As a bonus, the holster can also be used as a regular belt holster, giving you two carry options in one.

Carry Options for Glock 48 holsters

Concealed Carry

The Glock 48’s slim profile makes it ideal for concealed carry. Choosing the right Glock 48 concealed carry holster depends on your wardrobe, body shape, and comfort level. Holsters for Glock 48 should keep your firearm close to the body, reduce printing, and allow for a smooth, confident draw.

IWB Holsters

IWB holsters for Glock 48 offer deep concealment and secure positioning inside the waistband. These holsters use strong clips or loops to stay in place and often come with adjustable cant and retention. Kydex holsters Glock 48 users prefer are molded for exact fit, keeping the pistol steady and easily accessible. Many IWB designs are compatible with both standard and MOS models.

OWB Holsters

Glock 48 holster OWB provide better comfort and faster draw, especially during range practice or open carry. Though slightly less discreet, modern low-profile OWB options hug the body tightly. For shooters who favor materials with flexibility, nylon Glock 48 holsters offer a lightweight and affordable solution with decent retention and comfort.

Shoulder Holsters

Shoulder carry is less common but provides a balanced option for deep concealment or long days on your feet. A shoulder holster Glock 48 distributes weight across your torso, freeing up your waistband. This setup works best with a jacket or over-shirt and provides easy access when seated.

Chest Holsters

The Glock 48 chest holster provides practical hands-free access for hiking or layered outdoor use. Mounted high on the sternum, it keeps the pistol accessible while staying clear of waistbands and pack belts. Choose adjustable straps and a low-profile design to prevent shifting during vigorous activity.

Holsters with Light

A Glock 48 holster with light is molded specifically for your pistol plus the light body, keeping full trigger-guard coverage while using the light as a retention point. Pick a shell cut for the exact light model so the draw stays smooth and lockup remains consistent. Confirm fit against your exact light model to avoid clearance or retention issues.

For dedicated weapon-light options, choose a Glock 48 TLR 7 Sub holster or a Glock 48 TLR 6 holster molded to those specific mounts — these shells clear the bezel, preserve retention, and ensure the light won’t snag during the draw. These light-specific cuts also protect the optic path and maintain a repeatable draw stroke.

Drop Leg Holsters

A Glock 48 drop leg holster offers stable, low-profile off-belt carry for motorcycle riders, patrol, or range rigs. Look for padded backing, quick-release straps, and a secure molded shell for fast, consistent indexing. Position the rig for natural hand fall to keep draws smooth while seated or on the move.

Ankle Holsters

A Glock 48 ankle holster is the discreet backup option—compact, contoured, and held by a low-profile strap system. Best for small, slim pistols like the 48 when you need an unobtrusive secondary carry. Ensure the holster rides snugly to avoid movement and maintain a consistent re-holster.

Paddle Holsters

The Glock 48 paddle holster delivers fast on/off convenience for range sessions or short-term wear. Choose a robust paddle with good retention and a snug mold so the pistol stays secure during movement. Look for a paddle with a textured surface or retention lip to prevent slippage during sudden motion.

Duty Holsters

A Glock 48 duty holster is built for uniformed work: reinforced mounting, secure retention, and full trigger protection for long shifts and dynamic movement. It should withstand repeated draws and offer adjustable retention settings for safe, reliable performance. For added security, consider a Glock 48 Level 2 holster for two-point retention or step up to a Glock 48 Level 3 holster when you need maximum locking features without sacrificing a clean draw.

Material Options for Glock 48 Holsters

Glock 48 Leather Holsters

Leather holsters offer excellent comfort and durability, molding to your body and firearm over time for a snug, glove-like fit. Made from premium full‑grain or Italian leather, they provide natural retention and protection while softening with use, often becoming comfier than synthetic options.

Glock 48 Kydex Holsters

Kydex holsters are ultra‑lightweight and rigid, offering precise, custom molding that securely retains your firearm, even under demanding conditions, without needing a break‑in period.

Glock 48 Nylon Holsters

Nylon holsters are lightweight and cost-effective, made from durable, breathable materials like ballistic or Cordura nylon, making them ideal for concealed carry without adding bulk.

Summary

Choosing a reliable holster glock 48 means matching carry style to the pistol’s slim 9mm frame—IWB for deep concealment, AIWB for speed, or OWB/paddle for range and duty. For driving and seated work, a Glock 48 car holster delivers stable, low-profile access and minimizes interference with seatbelts or gear. Left-handed shooters should pick a mirrored Glock 48 left hand holster with identical retention, cant, and ride adjustments to preserve indexing and a smooth draw. Prioritize an exact-fit mold, full trigger-guard coverage, and retention tuned to your everyday needs.

Overall quality is good. My biggest issue is the spare mag holder. It needs to be adjustable to allow it to be turned horizontal or diagonal upwards position. As it is now the mag holder is almost useless, especially if you are in a situation where you need another mag in a hurry. Also need to have 4 more barrel screws added to the holster to keep the straps in place better.
