About FN Five-Seven
The company Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal (French for: National Factory of Herstal) that self identifies as FN Herstal is a leading firearms producer located in Herstal, Belgium. This Belgian company, the FN, is the parent company of two US entities: FNH USA and FN Manufacturing and. The FN Manufacturing is located in Columbia and South Carolina.
The FN Five-seven, is a semi-automatic pistol, that is trademarked as the Five-seveN, designed and manufactured by the FN Herstal. The pistol is a lightweight polymer-based weapon with a quite large maximum magazine capacity of 20 rounds and ambidextrous controls. One of the biggest advantages of the FN 5.7 is low recoil and also the ability to penetrate body armor when using certain cartridges. The FN Five Seven standard has double action trigger with long trigger pull and no external safeties, The FN Five Seven Usg has a single action trigger with short and light trigger pull and ambidextrous safety switch, which is located on the frame above the trigger. Both alternatives are striker fired, also with internal firing pin safety. The sights On The FN 57 are fixed on the frame, with optional night sights. The FN Fiveseven is capable to penetrate standard PASGT vest at 300 meters and standard CRISAT(combination of kevlar and titanium) vest at 100 meters.
