How to choose the best holster for your Smith & Wesson CSX

Start with how it fits. A good holster for Smith and Wesson CSX needs to hold tight to the gun’s shape, no wiggle, no shift. If it’s too loose, it might drag on the draw. Too tight, and you’re fighting it every time you reach. Make sure the trigger’s fully covered, too. That’s non-negotiable. Then think about how you’ll wear it. Are you sitting all day? Walking around? Carrying under a jacket? That’ll steer you toward the right style. Leather feels nice and breaks in over time. Kydex clicks into place and stays put. Hybrid setups give you the comfort of leather with the structure of Kydex. Go with what makes daily carry feel natural.

Best Smith and Wesson CSX OWB Holster

Open Top Belt Holster – $89.  The Open Top Belt Holster is an excellent choice for those seeking easy access and a quick draw. Its pancake design provides a slim, low-profile fit, ensuring that your Smith and Wesson CSX remains concealed even in an OWB carry position. This holster is not only practical but also extremely comfortable for daily wear.

Best Smith and Wesson CSX Shoulder Holster

This leather shoulder system allows you to carry your gun in a horizontal position, secured with a thumb break strap for added safety. As a bonus, the holster can also be used as a regular belt holster, giving you two carry options in one.

Carry Options for Smith & Wesson CSX holsters

Concealed Carry

This gun’s made for concealment, so most folks are looking for a Smith & Wesson CSX concealed carry holster that disappears under clothes but stays put when it counts. Comfort’s big here. Nobody wants a sharp edge digging in at the waistline or a rig that shifts around when you move. Sweat guards help if you’re carrying close, and adjustable cant lets you find that sweet spot for drawing without printing.

IWB Holsters

IWB is the go-to for keeping it low-profile. A Smith & Wesson CSX IWB holster, as the name suggests, is worn inside the waistband rides close and out of sight. Look for slim designs with good retention. Bonus if you can tuck a shirt over it without it bulging. The CSX is small, so it works well with minimalist holsters that don’t overdo the bulk.

OWB Holsters

For those who want easier access or don’t need to hide it all the time, Smith & Wesson CSX OWB holsters make a solid choice. A Smith & Wesson CSX holster worn on the belt’s outside gives you a faster draw and a more natural ride. Just keep in mind, you’ll likely need a jacket or overshirt if you want to keep things discreet.

Shoulder Holsters

Shoulder carry works well if you’re layering up or driving a lot. A holster for Smith & Wesson CSX that hangs from the shoulder can be easier to access when you’re sitting. Just be ready to balance it with a mag pouch on the other side so it doesn’t pull or sag.

Pocket Holster

The CSX is small enough for pocket carry in the right setup. A Smith & Wesson CSX pocket holster should cover the trigger completely and keep the gun upright in your pocket, no flopping around. Pocket carry’s convenient, but slower on the draw, so it works best as a backup or when you really need to keep it discreet.

Appendix Holster

Appendix carry puts the gun front and center, right where your body moves most. It’s fast to draw and hides well with the CSX’s slim profile. A Smith & Wesson CSX appendix holster needs to ride low enough to stay out of the way when you sit, but high enough to grab quickly. Look for something with a claw or wedge to pull the grip in and avoid printing.

So, I just got a CSX e-series. Love the 1911 but hate lugging the weight all day. The e-series has accommodation for a Holosun Sight. I noticed fitting the pistol, it wouldn't work, so, I removed materiel to make it work. Bad idea, half way through my shift (Det.) one of the loop snapped in half. Now I'm running home through the city to replace my pistol and holster. I take total blame! Leather is of good quality, stitching very good. Lesson; I guess, Don't fix what ain't broke and buy a different holster. I'm an old Cop, hate Kydex. But, I think I have to go to that!
