About Heckler & Koch USP
Heckler & Koch is a German company that manufactures handguns, military rifles, submachine guns, and grenade launchers. It’s story began after WW II. when the former designers of Mauser pistols started a machine tool plant in the former arms factory. They had responded to the need of the West German Bundeswehr in 1956 and their need of firearms and built the G3 rifle, which was based on the design of the Spanish CETME rifle.
The USP in HK USP stands for Universal Self-loading pistol. H&K; released the weapon in 1993 available only as a .40 caliber; .The Heckler Koch USP standard is also good model to serve the needs of a user who intends to use a single pistol for a multiple purposes. There is also a compact version of the USP that makes the handgun easy to “concealed carry” and stow in various locations. All H&K; USP 40 handguns feature an accessory rail under the slide just in front of the trigger guard that allows users to easily mount standard size tactical flashlights, laser sights, pistol bayonets, and other rail mounted accessories. H&K; also included a safety device in the magwell of all pistols delivered on or after October 1999 that prevents these pistols from firing when a user activates what is referred to as a lock out device by using a small key.
