The S&W; Model 17 6' is a revolver from the line of K-frame Smith & Wesson revolvers. The revolver is well adjusted to serve as a service gun for the law enforcers and is a good choice for everyday carry as well. It has a metal frame which makes the revolver sturdy and reliable. The capacity of the cylinder is 6 rounds. While all K-frame revolvers were once available in blue, nickel, or stainless steel finishes, only one model is blued—the other three are stainless steel. The K-frame has a lot going for it. Concealable, durable, extremely accurate with reliability beyond reproach, the K-frame has been the primary handgun I’ve recommended to prospective defensive handgun owners since becoming a police firearms instructor in 1986.
