How to choose the best holster for your Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0

Start by thinking about how you actually carry your M&P 2.0 every day. Are you sitting for long hours? Walking around a lot? Dressing light? You want a holster that’s built for your routine, not just the gun. Look for solid retention so it stays put if you move fast or bend. Smooth edges matter too, anything rough will rub or pinch. If you carry with a light, optic, or laser, don’t force a fit. Get something molded for your exact setup. Materials are all about balance. Leather’s comfy and classic, Kydex is rigid and secure. Hybrid styles split the difference. Just make sure it’s made for the gun’s size so it doesn’t shift or poke you.

IWB Holsters

Go for adjustable cant if you want to tweak the angle until it feels just right. The best IWB holster for Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 won't shift around when you sit or stand.

OWB Holsters

Shoulder Holsters

Holsters with light

If you’re carrying a weapon light, don’t try to squeeze it into a standard mold. You’ll want a Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 holster with light that fully accommodates your setup. That way you avoid friction points and get a proper lock-up around the frame and light.

Holsters with light and red dot

Running both a light and red dot? Then you’ll need full clearance and retention built around both. A Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 holster with light and red dot should leave space up top for the optic while wrapping tight around the light. No wobble, no extra bulk.

I recently got my ROTO system shoulder holster and now have it adjusted to fit. I love the holster. I only gave it 3 stars because I feel it is incomplete. There is only 1 small screw in each of the 4 adjustment straps. A rig like this should have 2 screws included in each strap. If one works loose - you could have an unsupported gun or mag pouch. Four more smalls screws included would not add much to the cost if anything for the company to include. I know - lock tight will probably help but thats not the point. Two screws are needed in each strap. I'll order the kit cause I need to but I don't think the added cost and shipping should be something I need to do in order to have a more secure system. Should be included. I do love the holster and the system though. Thanks
