About Manurhin MR73 - 4"
Manurhin, officially known as Manufacture de Machines du Haut-Rhin is a French firearms company, that first started to produce Walthers in 1952 as a result of post II World War reparations. They produced Walther P38’s, P4’s and PP’s. In 1984, Manurhin started importing these Walthers into the United States. The difference between Manurhin produced Walthers and Walthers produced by other companies is, that the Manuhrin ones are marked Manurhin on the left front side assembly. No Interarms logo appears on the right side. The most famous design of this company is the MR73 revolver. It is their original design, but production has stopped and nowadays the original Manurhin company focuses in the manufacture of military munitions. The company is now a part of the French Chapuis Armes manufacturer and they use the original prduction machinery to produce their firearms.
The Manurhin MR73 is a double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special/.357 Magnum. It has various barrel lengths available - 2.75", 3", 4", 5¼", and 6 - and thus can be used also for concealed carry. It was issued standardly to the French Gendarmerie, including SWAT teams (RAID, GIGN etc.). The MR73 could withstand 1500 rounds of full power ammunition daily during range practice. Each MR73 is match grade accurate and shipped with a target test fired in the factory from a 25 meter distance. The test consists of 15 rounds average and no group over 20mm in diameter with selected ammunition is allowed. The MR73 is a gun that can be modified - the trigger can be adjusted for single-action and double-action. The revolver can be converted to 9mm Parabellum.
The frame, cylinder and barrel is made of ordnance-certified, alloyed steel.
