Heckler & Koch is a German company that manufactures handguns, military rifles, submachine guns, and grenade launchers. It’s story began after WW II. when the former designers of Mauser pistols started a machine tool plant in the former arms factory. They had responded to the need of the West German Bundeswehr in 1956 and their need of firearms and built the G3 rifle, which was based on the design of the Spanish CETME rifle.
The Heckler & Koch VP9 is a striker-fired, polymer-framed handgun designed and manufactured by the renowned German firearms company, Heckler & Koch. It was released in 2014 as a direct competitor to the popular Glock 17 and has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most reliable and accurate handguns on the market. The VP9 is Heckler & Koch’s latest, and most successful pistol design. The upgrades in 2020 include that 17-round magazines will replace previous 15-round versions, new sight configuration, which includes a high-visibility front sight and a “clean” black serrated rear, and also optional optics-ready cut with cap. HK’s famous cold hammer forged barrel — made from cannon grade steel — ensures long service life. The VP9’s machined steel slide is protected from corrosion and wear by HK’s hostile environment finish.
The handgun features a 4.09-inch-long barrel. It’s 5.41 inches high and 1.32 inches wide. The overall length of the HK VP9 is 7.34. The gun is chambered in a popular 9mm cartridge.
One of the most notable features of the VP9 is its ergonomic design. The grip has been carefully contoured to fit comfortably in the hand, with interchangeable backstraps and side panels that allow the shooter to customize the fit. This, combined with the low bore axis and extended beavertail, makes the VP9 incredibly easy to control and shoot accurately.
Another feature that sets the H&K VP9 apart from other handguns is its trigger. The VP9 features a crisp, light trigger pull with a short reset, making it easy to shoot quickly and accurately.
