The Walther PDP Compact - 5’’ is a
single-action, striker-fired, semi automatic handgun developed by
Walther Arms. The Walther PDP 5’’ Compact was introduced only in 2021 and it’s
the newest addition to the Walther’s family of PDP pistols. Just like its name suggests, the Walther PDP Compact 5''’ comes with a 5 inches long barrel and the pistol’s overall length is 8.5 inches. The pistol comes with revolutionary ergonomics, SuperTerrain Slide Serrations, and a brand-new
Performance Duty Trigger, which means it represents the next evolution in world-class
ingenuity for pistols.
The
Walther PDP Compact 5’’ features a double stack magazine that holds 15 rounds
of the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge. Similarly to other striker-fired
pistols, the Walther PDP Compact 5 inch is also mostly made of polymer. The pistol
comes with an accessory rail, which means you can attach a range of
tactical lights and lasers to its frame. The Walther PDP Compact - 5'' comes with a
fixed 3-dot sights system and the pistol is also optics-ready, which
means it’s frequently used with red dot, reflex, and RMR sights.

The leather that the holster and magazine pouch is made of, is very nice and seems to be excellent quality. The fit and finish of the holster is great with one exception. The leather where the thumb strap is attached came to a sharp point that dug into my side terribly. During initial inspection of the holster, I felt that this would be a problem….and it was. Was, because I trimmed up the point and square edge with an X-acto knife, no more problem. The break in process…is coming along. I’m still trying different adjustments for holster and mag pouch positioning. Adjustment points…..the rig does not lack. The thing that I am a little underwhelmed with is; the shoulder harness itself seems to be made of pleather….. I’m hoping there is a reason other than cost for this.
