About Sig Sauer P226 Scorpion
The Sig Sauer company began in 1853 and was at first a wagon factory - until the revolutionary design of the Prélaz-Burnand rifle, which this factory manufactured, had won a Switzerland's Federal Ministry of Defense competition to produce 30 000 Prélaz-Burnand rifles. The factory then changed its name to Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft - SIG (Swiss Industrial Company in English).
The Sig Sauer P226 Scorpion is available in 2 calibers. The model chambered in 9mm caliber features double-action trigger, frame mounted decocking lever safety, 15-round magazine, anodized aluminum frame, custom black G10 Piranha grip, SIGLITE night sights and accessory rail. The model chambered in .40 S&W caliber features double-action trigger, frame mounted decocking lever safety, 12-round magazine, anodized aluminum frame, custom black G10 Piranha grip, SIGLITE night sights and accessory rail. Both models also features flat dark earth (FDE) PVD finish slide and frame and front and rear slide serrations. The overall length of this recoil operated semi-automatic pistol is 7.7-in with 4.4-in barrel.
