How To Choose The Best Cross Draw Holster For Your FN FNX 45 Tactical
When you're shopping for a new Cross Draw holster for you.FN FNX 45 Tactical, knowing exactly what you want matters. If you've narrowed it down to a Cross Draw holster, you're already on the right path. Below, we’ll walk you through why this carry style might be the ideal fit, how to find the best model for your body type and setup, and what materials and add-ons to consider.
Why Choose a Cross Draw Holster?
Cross draw holsters are designed for those who prioritise comfort while seated and prefer an alternative draw angle. Worn on the opposite side of your dominant hand, this carry style allows you to reach across your body to draw your firearm.
Ideal for seated carry
Cross draw holsters are excellent for drivers or individuals who spend long periods sitting. The placement allows for easy access to your FN FNX 45 Tactical without interference from seatbelts or armrests.
Natural draw motion
The cross-body draw is intuitive for many users, especially those with limited shoulder mobility. It provides a smooth, sweeping motion that can feel more comfortable than a straight-side draw.
Great for open carry and concealment
While cross draw is often used for open carry, with the right cover garment, it can also work effectively for concealed carry, especially when worn slightly forward of the hip.
Keeps firearm away from dominant side activities
For users who carry tools, radios, or other gear on their dominant side, cross draw keeps the firearm accessible without interfering with other equipment.
Suitable for specific defensive scenarios
Cross draw carry can be advantageous in retention scenarios where the firearm is protected by your arms and body angle, making it harder for others to grab.
Whether you’re looking for a comfortable seated carry option or prefer the cross-body draw motion, a cross draw holster provides a practical and accessible way to carry your FN FNX 45 Tactical.
How to Choose the Right FN FNX 45 Tactical Cross Draw Holster for Your Body and Lifestyle
Body type and fit
Choose a holster with adjustable cant and ride height to position your FN FNX 45 Tactical comfortably across your torso. Slim users may prefer holsters with less bulk, while larger builds can benefit from broader platforms for stability.
Gun size compatibility
Cross draw holsters work best with compact to mid-sized firearms for easier draw and comfort. Full-size pistols can be carried cross draw but may require holsters with enhanced retention and support.
Carry position
Most users wear cross draw holsters on the front of their non-dominant side hip, angled forward for a smooth cross-body draw. Ensure the holster’s cant allows for quick, natural access.
Handedness
Select a cross draw holster designed for your dominant hand, ensuring the angle and draw direction are optimal for your setup.
Retention and safety
Look for holsters with reliable retention mechanisms to keep your FN FNX 45 Tactical secure during movement. The trigger guard should be fully covered at all times.
Comfort features
Prioritise holsters made from breathable, padded materials to reduce pressure and irritation, especially during long drives or extended seated periods.

I’m sure this won’t get posted where others can read it so I will be sure it gets posted elsewhere. If I could rate them lower than one star, I surely would!!!! I asked for a label to return the holster because when I ordered it, I told them I had a Trijicon RMR Green Dot Optical Sight on my pistol. They claim I ordered a holster for a plain, iron sight, FNX-.45 Tactical and that is what they sent! I’m a former Federal Special Agent and a 100% Disabled Veteran and Above Knee Amputee. Both of my EDC pistols have a Trijicon Green Dot RMR Optical Gun Sight on them and with every holster I’ve ever ordered, I have made special efforts to mention I have the Trijicon Optic mounted on the slide. This holster order was no different. I made a special effort to make sure it was known my FNX-.45 Tactical had a Trijicon Green Dot Optical Gun Sight mounted on the slide. Well, their solution was for me to pay to ship it back to them and pay a 25% Restocking fee. They also recommended I put the 75% refund into my account with Craft Holsters to save for my future purchases!!! I had to laugh over that idea, due to the way this has been handled and due to the fact I was unable to find some of the most important qualities I look for in a holster for a weapon I will be carrying to protect my life or the life of someone else and based on this, THERE CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE ANY FUTURE PURCHASES MADE BY ME TO ANYTHING FROM CRAFT HOLSTERS!!!! The leather used is low quality leather and extremely stiff. The inside of the holster has no lining to protect the finish on your weapon. Only one side of the holster is form fitted to the weapon. The side against your body is just flat leather and has no form of the weapon!!!! At best, this holster I received is an example of SHODDY WORKMANSHIP and if I were the CEO of Craft Holsters, I would be both EMBARRASSED and ASHAMED at having sent this holster to a prospective customer!!!!! The holster arrived mostly flat, even though it was packaged in a box which prevented it from being smashed during shipment. It was packaged very nicely with the utmost care. However, great packaging of a poor product doesn’t make a great product. Just because you put Lipstick and Makeup on a Pig doesn’t change the fact it is still a Pig. I refuse to ever pay a restocking fee to any company and since they (Craft) never even offered to exchange the holster for one which is made for an FNX-.45 Tactical with a Trijicon Optical Green Dot RMR Sight mounted on the slide, I will use this as a $94.00 lesson I won’t soon forget and I will make sure I pass this lesson onto as many people as possible!!! At first, I was just disappointed with the holster, but after the response from Craft, telling me I’m required to pay a 25% restocking fee and never offering to get me a holster which would fit my weapon, I am totally disgusted with the Company of Craft Holsters!!! Craft Holsters has lost a paying customer and I will be sure to pass this lesson onto as many people as possible!!!!! Stay away from cheap holsters like this thing sent to me by Craft Holsters!!!! It’s obvious they made a better holster for their ads to get you to order from them. The holster you get IS NOT WHAT YOU SEE PICTURED IN THE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!! Craft Holsters, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!! Sincerely, Terry
Gary
Like all craft made holsters high-quality product I just ordered an FNX 45 tactical holster I don’t know what they used for a mold but apparently did not have suppressor Height sites because getting my gun out of the holster is a giant pain in the butt I’ll use it for something different
