About Glock 21 C
Glock Ges.m.b.H., trademarked as Glock is one of the most famous and successful firearm producer, well known all over the world. Engineer Gaston Glock, company's founder who had no experience with firearms manufacture or design, became one of the most successful firearms designer of all times. Glock had extensive experience in advanced synthetic polymers, knowledge of which was very important in the company's design of the first commercially successful line of polymer frame pistols.
The Glock 21 C, is very similar in size to previous model, chambered with 10mm ammunition. In fact, the frames appear to be identical. Test specimen of a prototype Glock 21 C has an overall length of 8.27 inches and the barrel length about 4.6 inches.. The weight of the Glock 21 Cunloaded is 29.5 ounces. Almost 85 percent of this mass is accounted by the steel components. As the other models of the Glock series, there are only 35 parts including the magazine. The G21 C is a short recoil operated, with the barrel that is locked to the slide by a single lug. During the recoil stroke the barrel moves immediately rearward about 3mm and until the bullet leaves the barrel it pressures drop to a safe level. The barrel on the G 21 C then drops downward and separating from the slide and terminating any further motion. The slide is continued rearward movement and counter-recoil cycle are those from the Browning system. It’s a striker-fired, hammerless model with the Glock's trigger and firing pin mechanisms that are quite progressive.
