About Glock 17 Gen 4
The Glock 17 Gen 4 is a product from the Gen 4 series that was introduced in 2010. The updates of the new generation centered on ergonomics and the spring assembly. The parts of some handguns can be interchanged between each other. The Grip on the Glock 17 Gen-4 as well on other from this generation is smaller, the magazine releases are reversible for left hand users. The trigger mechanism on the G17 Gen 4, as well as other models, has been also modified for it to fit in the smaller grip space and also the slide and barrel shelf have been resized. The standard trigger housing pin was removed and replaced by a longer cross pin in order to mount the backstrap that increased the trigger distance by 2 mm or 4 mm (0.079 in or 0.16 in). With the backstrap installed, the grip size is identical to the other Gen pistols.
