See full Description"I had a difficult time finding the right holster for my new Springfield Armory TRP Carry (a commander length 1911 w/ a rail). First, this is a fairly new model, and a relatively expensive one, so not many people have purchased them yet, and not many manufacturers have designed holsters to fit them. Beyond this, I wanted something with a cut that would accommodate a red dot sight, and molded appropriately for the Streamlight I'd mounted on the rail. I'd also bought a compensator (my first) to tame that .45 caliber recoil, which adds an additional inch to the length. My holster therefore needed either a longer than standard channel for the slide, or an open bottom that the comp could fit through. These were necessities to me, which meant I needed a custom holster, not the standard mass-produced molded plastic variety sold by most companies and gun stores. I also preferred a cross-draw OWB type, or at least something with an adjustable cant that would allow me to use it that way, though I would have compromised on this if necessary. I wasn't asking for much, right? Wrong. After 2 months of searching, I found only 2 companies that could give me what I was looking for. One of them would have charged me $600 for the holster as specified above, and while I was sure it would be worth that price, it was shortly before Christmas and that holiday tends to put heavy demands on one's available cash. So now we're down to one option, Craft Holsters. They weren't fast (a sign of heavy demand), but they did a phenomenal job building me the exact holster I needed -- which was well worth the wait. The craftsmanship is immediately evident, and I fully expect it to last as long as my weapon does, and probably longer than it's new owner (yours truly). This holster is every bit the equal of those $600 holsters offered by that other company, if not their superior. If you're impatient, look somewhere else, but if you're willing to wait a month or two for a custom holster that's perfect for your needs, order a Craft holster. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and I love the cross-draw design! Not for everyone, I know, but for me it's the most natural feeling draw whether I'm standing or sitting."

Due to the construction of the holster, the significantly exposed or aftermarket magazine release may be released by the leather. If the Red Dot protrudes behind this area, please note it in the checkout.
