About Tokarev M57
The Tokarev company marketed the World War II-surplus Russian-made Tokarevs in Europe and the United States as the Phoenix. Tokarev became famous for its two pistols Tokarev TT-30 and TT-33. The TT-33 pistol is still in service. The Tokarev company based in Russian Tula which produces the TT pistol was developed as a result of continuous trials, with the main aim to produce and supply firearms for the Red Army during the mid- and late 1920s.
The Tokarev M57 was originally produced by Zastava firearms in former Yugoslavia. It was a service pistol from 1957 to 1992 but it’s still produced today as it’s used all around the world. It’s chambered in 7.63x25mm Tokarev cartridge. The M57 is a copy of the TT pistol but with a longer grip to accommodate larger magazines. The M57 is short-recoil-operated, locked-breech pistol that uses a Browning-type action with swinging link. The trigger is of single-action type. Originally the pistol has no manual safeties except for a half-cock notch on the hammer. The new manufacture pistols have a manual safety that is mounted on the slide rather than the frame. The new versions of the M57A/M70A also feature a magazine safety that renders the gun unable to fire unless a magazine is inserted into the grip frame. The magazine is single-stack, 9 round capacity.

What Makes a Great Leather Tokarev M57 Holster
A perfect M57 Leather holster holds your firearm without the need of a retention strap. The natural retention of each material takes care of it and you can even hold the scabbard upside down without the firearm falling of. Or you can rely on the retention strap which can have several levels of retention. Another treat of a great M57 Leather gunholster are smooth edges on the outside. This way the holster stays protected from abrasions, scratches or any other intrusive surfaces that it may stumble upon. A perfect finish of a M57 holster is another feature. A finished holster keeps dust, moisture and water away. Taking care of your holster is a important thing and there are many options including break-in or adjustment.
