Ezechiele Chiappa founded Armi Sport in Italy in 1958. Over the years the company grew and eventually developed into the Chiappa Group in the late 1980's. The Chiappa Group has expanded to several industrial locations in Italy and the United States. The Corporate headquarters are located in Brescia, Italy. The 1911 is one of America’s favorite pistols. With Chiappa Firearms’ 1911-22, this classic design can come with all of the features, comfort and appeal but chambered in the easy shooting inexpensive .22lr. These handguns are the same size and have the same controls as a genuine 1911. This makes the Chiappa 1911-22 perfect for serious practicing, target shooting or plinking. The 1911-22 is available in standard, compact, custom or two tone configurations. Each 1911-22 comes with two 10 round magazines.
