About Taurus PT 92 AFS (w Rail)
The Taurus company was founded in 1982 as the Taurus Holdings, Inc. which is a Florida based holding company which, in turn, owns several companies responsible for some of the most robust firearms brands in the United States. The Taurus produced it’s absolutely the first revolver in 1941. In 1970, Bangor Punta, that owned the Smith & Wesson, purchased a controlling interest in the Forjas Taurus company.
The Taurus PT-92 AFS is a double-action, recoil-operated, semi automatic pistol developed by Forjas Taurus. This model was first introduced way back in 1983 and its design is based on that of the very popular Beretta 92. The Taurus PT-92 AFS comes with an accessory rail and the AFS abbreviation stands for ambidextrous safety lever, firing pin lock, and stainless steel slide. The Taurus PT 92 AFS is a full-sized handgun with a 5 inches long barrel. The pistol comes with a double stack magazine that holds up to 17 rounds of ammo. The pistol is chambered for the popular 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge. The Taurus PT 92 AFS comes with a polished stainless steel slide, decocker, frame-mounted accessory rail, five-inch barrel, hardwood grips and a 3-dot sights system.
