The Taurus company was founded in 1982 as the Taurus Holdings, Inc. which is a Florida based holding company which, in turn, owns several companies responsible for some of the most robust firearms brands in the United States. The Taurus produced it’s absolutely the first revolver in 1941. In 1970, Bangor Punta, that owned the Smith & Wesson, purchased a controlling interest in the Forjas Taurus company.

The Taurus PT 24/7 OSS is a double/single-action, striker-fired, semi automatic pistol developed by Forjas Taurus. The pistol was introduced back in 2007 and its production lasted until 2010. The pistol was developed as a reaction to the United States Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) demand for a new .45 ACP service pistol. The pistol, however, never became a main sidearm of the USSOCOM, which is why the manufacturer decided to introduce it to the civilian market. The Taurus PT 24/7 OSS belongs to the Taurus PT-24/7 series of pistols. Based on its main specs, the pistol is considered a full-sized handgun. The overall length of this Taurus model is 8.25 inches and its barrel is 5.25 inches long. The pistol comes with a double stack magazine and it comes chambered for either the .40 S&W caliber or the more powerful .45 ACP cartridge. The .45 ACP version takes in 12 rounds of ammo while the .40 S&W holds 15 rounds. The pistol’s frame and grips are made of polymer and its slide is made of blued steel. The Taurus PT 24/7 OSS also features an accessory rail, which means you can attach a range of tactical lights and lasers to it. There are also 3-dot Novak sights mounted to the pistol’s slide. The size, capacity, utility, performance and reliability of the pistol make the Taurus PT 24/7 OSS an excellent choice for a duty gun and military sidearm, but the pistol can also be used for dynamic shooting purposes.
