About Heckler & Koch P7 M8
Heckler & Koch is a German company that manufactures handguns, military rifles, submachine guns, and grenade launchers. It’s story began after WW II. when the former designers of Mauser pistols started a machine tool plant in the former arms factory. They had responded to the need of the West German Bundeswehr in 1956 and their need of firearms and built the G3 rifle, which was based on the design of the Spanish CETME rifle.
The HK P7M8 was designed by Heckler and Koch. This particular HK P7 M8 series as an M8 – carrying a total of 8 9x19mm Parabellum cartridges in a single stack magazine. The H K P7 M8 has a squeeze cocking mechanism that doesn’t allow the firing pin to function unless the pistol grip is squeezed. The magazine lever is located beneath the trigger guard and the gun was equipped with a heat shield to protect the shooter from heat caused by the gas inside the chamber. The Heckler Koch P7 M8 is known for its low barrel and slim profile, which makes it more precise, reliable and easily concealable with a strong basis of the following shooters. It’s a defensive gun designed for police officers and/or concealed carry. The H&K; P7M8 was featured with a relocated release of magazine ("American" style instead of "European" style), a larger trigger guard and a heat shield inside the trigger which included the gas- delayed cylinder. This model has been widely used by the New Jersey State Police up to these days.
