About Glock 42

Glock Ges.m.b.H., trademarked as Glock is one of the most famous and successful firearm producer, well known all over the world.  Engineer Gaston Glock, company's founder who had no experience with firearms manufacture or design, became one of the most successful firearms designer of all times. Glock had extensive experience in advanced synthetic polymers, knowledge of which was very important in the company's design of the first commercially successful line of polymer frame pistols.

The Glock 42 is a striker single-action, recoil-operated, semi automatic pistol designed and produced by Austrian firearms manufacturer Glock Ges.m.b.H. This Glock model was introduced to the civilian market back in 2014 and it is considered the most popular Glock model chambered for the .380 Auto cartridge. The Glock 42 is a subcompact handgun that features a slimline design, which means this model is one of your best choices for everyday concealed carry.

With a width of just 0.94 inches, the Glock 42 is the slimmest of all Glock models. The slimline frame makes the pistol super easy to conceal. The barrel length of the Glock 42 is 3.2 inches and the pistol’s overall length is 5.94 inches. Just like previously mentioned, the Glock 42 is chambered for the .380 ACP caliber, which makes the pistol an ideal personal defense option. The Glock 42 is sometimes also used in Law Enforcement. The pistol comes with a single stack magazine, which can be loaded with 6+1 rounds of ammo. The slimline subcompact design of the pistol means it’s best if you carry it in a custom Glock 42 concealed carry holster.

Just like the rest of Glock pistols, the G42 can be modified with a number of different Glock 42 aftermarket accessories. Among the most popular Glock 42 upgrades are definitely aftermarket sights systems. By default, the pistol comes with a fixed white dot front and white square U rear sights system. However, if you wish to switch to an alternative sights system, check out our list of the top 5 night sights for Glock pistols. Even though the Glock 42 doesn’t feature an accessory rail for attachment of tactical lights and lasers, there are many flashlights and lasers that can be mounted directly onto the pistol’s trigger guard. So, if you want to upgrade the target acquisition and accuracy of your Glock 42, check out our lists of the best Glock 42 lasers or this list of the top Glock 42 lights. If you end up buying a Glock 42 light or laser, don’t forget to get yourself one of these custom Glock 42 light-bearing holsters.

Another great way to improve your sight is through one of these red dot sights for the Glock 42. You’ll have to get a Glock 42 red dot plate before mounting the selected Glock 42 red dot. Also, if you pair the pistol up with a red dot, reflex, or RMR sight, you’ll also need a Glock 42 red dot holster. Another popular way to upgrade the Glock 42 are alternative pistol grips. If you can’t find one you like, check out this list of the top 6 Glock grips.

As the pistol is super tiny, it’s best carried in a Glock 42 IWB holster or in an appendix Glock 42 holster. If you wish to use your Glock for open carry, then here’s a selection of the best Glock 42 outside waistband holsters. These pistols aren’t usually carried shoulder style, but if this carry method suits you best, then you should get yourself a custom Glock 42 shoulder holster. If you work in Law Enforcement, you might want to check out our lists of Glock 42 duty holsters as well as Glock 42 paddle holsters. For super deep concealed carry, your pistol can also be carried inside a Glock 42 ankle holster or in a Glock 42 belly band holster.

If you haven’t got your own Glock 42 pistol yet, you can do so through Glock’s official website. Also, in case you’d like to find as much as possible about this handgun, check out this Glock Wikipedia page. What makes a great Ankle Glock 42 Holster?

A well made, custom  Glock 42 Ankle holster will hold your firearm even if it doesn’t come with a safety strap. The glove-like fit and high natural retention are a result of your new Glock 42 holster being molded on the exact replica of your pistol. Thanks to the way your new holster is made, your handgun will not fall out of the holster even if you decide to carry your rig upside down (although we advise you not to carry this way). However, if you want to get as much retention as possible, feel free to choose from our selection of Glock 42 Ankle holsters equipped with a thumb-break strap.
On the other hand, a perfect fit isn’t the only thing a great holster should deliver. A great Glock 42 Ankle holster should also come with smooth edges and meticulous stitching. Such features help to protect the holster from abrasion, scratches, wear as well as prevent it from taking any damage should it come in contact with rough surfaces. A great Glock 42 Ankle holster also comes with a perfect finish, which keeps it protected from dust and moisture. However, in order to ensure longevity and perfect condition of even the best holster, you should regularly take care of your Glock 42 Ankle holster through proper holster maintenance.
