About Taurus PT 809
The Taurus company was founded in 1982 as the Taurus Holdings, Inc. which is a Florida based holding company which, in turn, owns several companies responsible for some of the most robust firearms brands in the United States. The Taurus produced it’s absolutely the first revolver in 1941. In 1970, Bangor Punta, that owned the Smith & Wesson, purchased a controlling interest in the Forjas Taurus company.
The Taurus PT 809 is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic handgun with a DA/SA trigger action. It has a frame mounted safety and a firing pin block. The Taurus PT809 has a 9mm caliber and the magazine can hold 17 rounds. The sights are Novak, the frame is made of polymer and the grip is made of integrated polymer.
