About CZ 85 B
The Czech armoury (CZ), probably one of the most successful European firearm producer based in the Czech republic, offers to its customers quality products and more than 75 years of experience in the production of various firearms. The company has sales agencies in more than 100 countries worldwide, however the most important is its presence in the USA. CZ-USA is located in Kansas City, Kansas and it’s the US-based subsidiary of the Czech Armoury.
The CZ 85 B is similar in design, general outline, features and operations to the famous CZ pistol. The only differences are slide stop levers, completely ambidextrous safety catch, and a reversible magazine release button. CZ 85 B firstly appeared in the mid-1980s and the production began probably in 1986. Original CZ 85 B design was upgraded with integral firing pin block. The model was called CZ 85 B. CZ 85 B has slight changes made to internal parts of the gun to increase reliability. It makes the pistol suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. The magazine holds in this case up to 16 rounds. CZ 85-B was developed because the previous model had no patents protecting the design and features of this model and it was copied in other countries with unlicensed versions. The CZ 85 and the CZ 85-B fits nicely in the hand and with its arched grip housing, points quite naturally. Its steel frame and slide add the necessary heft to the piece, and along with the standard checkered grip panels, they help to control recoil for follow-up shots what is really useful.
