The Smith & Wesson Model 686 4'' is a Double-action revolver chambered for the .357 Magnum that belongs to the L-Frame family. It has been produced first in 1980. It has stainless steel frame and rubber grips. The sights in the front are red ramp and the sights in the back are adjustable white outline sights. The Smith Wesson 686 has a revolving chamber and no manual safety. Smith & Wesson introduced the Model 686 in 1981. It is the stainless steel version of a previous SW model, which was a blued steel finish. It was chambered for .357 Magnum and .38 S&W; Special +P calibers. They are available ported and unported with a choice of 6 or 7 round cylinders.
