1911 Holsters

The story of the handgun 1911 is written indelibly across the pages of guns’ history.  The M1911 pistol was widely copied within the time and the operating system rose to become the excellent type of nearly all-modern pistols of the 21th century. Technically, the M1911 is a semi-auto, single action, recoil-operated, magazine fed pistol, chambered for the .45 ACP calibers. It served as the standard-issue U.S military sidearm for almost 80 years (1911- 1986).

The history of M1911 pistol originated in the late 1890s, when famous designer John M. Browning began to develop design of semi-automatic pistol for Colt Company to replace the variety of revolvers in service. In 1911, after extensive testing, the new firearm M1911, designed by Browning and produced by Colt, was officially adopted for U. S military service. It was in use as the standard-issue sidearm from 1911 to 1985. The M1911A1 is popular among civilians mainly in the U.S for recreational use within concealed carry, target shooting, personal defense or competitions.

The M1911 series of semi-auto belongs to the most successful small handguns design and biggest commercial success ever. The legendary design has been brought into the 21st century with slight adaptations to actual shooters’ demand. There is no other gun model contributed more to the American history than the M1911, what makes it one of the most collectible gun models in the history of the guns ever.
